NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF BANNEUX THE VIRGIN OF THE POOR

The Message and Novena to Our Lady of Banneux Our Lady appeared eight times in 1933 to Mariette Beco, eldest daughter of a poor family living outside the village of Banneux, near Liege in Belgium. THE MESSAGE Sunday, January 15th The Virgin invites us by a sign. The Blessed Virgin, dazzling white, seemed to be praying, smiled at the child, and beckoned her to come out the house. Wednesday, January 18th After accompanying the child in prayer for about 20 minutes, the Blessed Virgin led her to the spring and said: “Push your hands into the water. This spring is reserved for me. Good night. Au revoir.” Thursday, January 19th The child asked, “Who are you, beautiful Lady?” Our Lady replied, “I AM THE VIRGIN OF THE POOR.” Then for the second time, she led the child to the spring and said, “This spring is reserved for all nations…for the sick. I shall pray for you. Au revoir.” Friday, January 20th The child asked her, “What do you desire, beautiful Lady?”

Blessed Sister Zdenka Schelingova

Sister Zdenka, from the Congregation of Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross, was born around midnight on December 24, 1916 in Krivá in Orava, the mountainous region of northeastern Slovakia. Her family name was Cecília Schelingová. Cecilia attended the local elementary school in the village for 8 years from 1922 to 1930. On July 6, 1931,she joined the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross in Podunajské Biskupice as a candidate. After years of formation, she made first vows on January 30, 1937. She began working in Bratislava in the Government Hospital in the radiology department. In 1941 – 1942, she worked as a nurse in the Regional Hospital in Humenné. From 1942 until February 29, 1952, she worked in the Government Hospital in Bratislava on Miczkiewiczova Street as a laboratory assistant. On January28, 1943, she made her final vows. O Jesus our Divine physician with whole hearted trust in your mercy and compassion I lay all my burdens on your Most Healing Heart the fountain of unfathomable Divine Mercy. Lord Jesus owing to the illness of your servant Saint Anna Schaffer you let her share on your physical suffering and torn her body with the very wounds that you bore during your passion. O my Jesus please hear my plea and heal me from (tell Jesus the specific illness you want him to heal) which I have been carrying for so long that even my love ones suffered due to this illness. Touch me O Lord by the power of your love that my body be healed and let the water from your side purified my blood that flows in my veins and arteries. Enlighten my mind with your Divine Wisdom and strengthen my week body by your bitter passion.
